Did you know ????

sheep don’t forget a face.
sheep and goats are cousins-almost.
sheep play follow the leader.
sheep experience the same emotions as humans.
sheep are highly sensitive.
sheep ‘talk’ about their feelings.
sheep that are penned up will march round and round with others joining in.
sheep respond to a strong leader.
sheep are gullible if tempted by treats……

This Sunday is called Good Shepherd Sunday- the fourth Sunday of Easter. We, therefore, often focus on the qualities and blessings of THE Good Shepherd, as we should. Yet shepherd and sheep become one family or flock and therefore we also need to focus on the sheep’s role. And that’s where we come in.

As good sheep (and sometimes lost sheep) we need to allow Jesus to actually shepherd or lead us. We need to listen for and hear His voice. We need to follow Him where He guides us , grazing in the pastures He brings us to. And...becoming shepherds ourselves, following His lead and example…caring for our brothers and sisters (and cousins) as He is caring for us.

Today, in the pasture we find ourselves, we have a lot of options to become His feet and His hands! SO happy grazing and shepherding and resting in the forever care of our Good, very good, Shepherd.

This Zoom presentation will be facilitated by The Rev. Cano Rich Weyls.

A Suggestion: Join in Evening Prayer (6pm every Wednesday in the Sanctuary) before the presentation.

Grief as a Threshold Experience

Grief is a human response to any sort of loss in life. The experience of grief is a liminal space, a threshold between what was and what is, between presence and absence, between the known and the mysterious. In this session, we will explore various forms of grief and move beyond classical stage theories to examine the cognitive, social, cultural and spiritual dimensions of grief and recovery. We will concentrate upon the profound spiritual growth that can happen as people learn to live with their grief in a new way.

The Red Door Thrift Shop Update

Dawn Jex

Dawn Jex, Red Door Manager

Hello all YOU Lovely people,

I am back from Oregon and trying to remember how to do my job today! LOL Just kidding I'm back on the horse and getting stuff done! The shop looks wonderful and I want to publicly thank Debbie Wilson for running things while I was out of town. She is a great asset to The Red Door and we are lucky to have her!

If you haven't seen one yet, we have a new trifold brochure for new volunteers. This brochure has all of the phone numbers for Debbie and I, the Red Door Committee members and the church. If I haven't given you one yet, please come by my office and pick one up. This is good information to have on you in case you need to call out for a shift.

I am in the process of updating the "Volunteer Wish List" that is on the bulletin board as it looks like most of these items have been found. If you have a special item you are looking for, please let us know and I will write it down.

Shop Notes: Please refrain from putting things on the floor and into the corners of the shop. This blocks the space needed to get to the shelves behind what's on the floor and it also leaves the shop looking messy. If you cannot put something up on a shelf or table somewhere then ask Debbie or I where it can be placed for prime merchandising.

That's it for now! Sending hugs to everyone!
Dawn
