Weekly Update 10 April 2026

As Tom our Senior Warden mentioned in this month’s Joyful Noise, Christ Church is entering a period of transition. Both Rev. Eric Johnson, an integral part of our church leadership for years, and Rev. Courtney will be moving on to new phases of their lives. We wish them both success in all they do, and hope to see them periodically in the future.
Change is difficult. We humans seem to thrive on routine and consistency. Life is seldom routine and consistent for long. In the second reading for this week, Peter tells us that, by the resurrection of Jesus, God has given us a new life into a living hope. He goes on to say that we may suffer some trials, but the genuineness of our faith will result in glory and honor. I’ve been a member of this congregation long enough to have witnessed a fair amount of change in the leadership here at Christ Church. Each time, there have been periods of transition, but we adjusted and it all worked out. I have faith that we will be able to adjust to this upcoming change also. We have a new group of candidates for ordination who are in the discernment phase, and I look forward to seeing where the Spirit leads them.
